written by P.B. Shelly.
Context:
In these lines the poet narrates about a statue that is standing in
a desert. He is told that the statue is trunk-less and presenting a picture of
complete decline.

that he met a traveler who had come from an ancient land. The traveler told
him the condition of the statue which is trunk-less and is standing in the
desert. Its face is sunk in the sand. Rhyme scheme of these lines is “abacd”.
These lines give us a very important lesson.
