In these lines the poet tells about _______________. These lines have many layers of meanings. The upper meaning of these lines is very easy to understand even by the common reader. But the hidden meaning of these lines is complex and thought provoking. For Example.
Explain the following with reference to context:                                                          
I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: two vast and trunk-less legs of stone
Stand in the desert…… near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies,
Whose frown.

These lines have been taken from the poem “Ozymandias” written by P.B. Shelly.
Context:
In these lines the poet narrates about a statue that is standing in a desert. He is told that the statue is trunk-less and presenting a picture of complete decline.
Explanation:
In these lines the poet tells about a statue of Ozymandias. These lines have many layers of meanings. The upper meaning of these lines is very easy to understand even by the common reader. But the hidden meaning of these lines is complex and thought provoking. In these lines, the poet says that he met a traveler who had come from an ancient land. The traveler told him the condition of the statue which is trunk-less and is standing in the desert. Its face is sunk in the sand. Rhyme scheme of these lines is “abacd”. These lines give us a very important lesson.
