Letters

1.      Letter to a Friend condoling the death of his father/mother
Examination Hall,
   A.B.C (CITY)
   September 24, 2015

Dear Friend,

I am shocked to hear the sad news of your mother’s death. I could not believe that at once. I am greatly grieved on this tragedy of your life. Mother is a blessing of God but the divine rules are absolute. We are unable to understand Allah’s plans.

She was a nice lady. She had a great heart. She was so social and loving. I can remember her soft and sweet dialect. She always loved me as her own son. She prayed for everyone and gave wise counsels to others.

Her death is such a loss as cannot be recompensed.  I advise you to bear this misfortune with patience. Set your goals of life and do not let her soul feel bad of you. Nothing but the time alone can soother your sorrow. All my sympathies are with you.
May her soul rest in peace!
Yours sincerely,

X.Y.Z

Dear Friend,
I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and spirits. As the summer vacation is going to start soon. I wish that you should spend a few days with us in Lahore. There are many historical places in Lahore. These are the places that remind us the history of our forefathers. The Shahi Fort and the Shahi mosque are fine examples of the Mughal arts and culture. Minar-e-Pakistan is also built in Lahore at the same site where the resolution of Pakistan was passed in 1940. We can go there during your stay with us at Lahore.
We will have a lot of fun, if you join me at Lahore during your vocation. I hope you will surely spend some days of summer vacation with us.
Convey my regards to uncle and aunty.
Yours sincerely,
 X. Y. Z.

6.      Letter to Mother telling her why you dislike hostel life.
Examination Hall,
A.B.C. (City)
December 7, 2016

Dear mother,

I was very glad to receive your kind letter yesterday. You asked me to write about my living at hostel. Actually, I don’t want you to be misguided because hostel is not a proper place to live in.  Most of the boys here are very naughty. They not only play nasty jokes on us but keep on teasing us till some teacher comes to our rescue. The mass meals are not of good quality..

Dear mother, I am tired of this life and wish to be back home. If I live in the same
environment, it may not be good for my studies and health.

Your loving son,
    X. Y. Z.

11.  Letter to Uncle thanking him for the birthday gift.
Examination Hall,  A.B.C
           August 26, 2011.
    Dear Uncle,
Assalam-o-Alaikum,
It was very kind of you to send me such a valuable present on my birthday. It is also very kind of you to remember that today is my birthday. This gift of yours will always remind me of your love.

Your choice of a wrist watch as a birth day present is simply amazing. I was badly in need of time keeper. I had no watch so far. I could not regulate my timings in studies, in taking rest or utilize my spare time without it. Now that I have got it, it will make me punctual and stand me in good stead during the examination days.

I have shown this pretty wrist watch to my friends and they have liked it very much. You must have spent a good amount to buy it. I shall take good care of it.

Yours affectionately
X. Y. Z

12.  Letter to Younger brother giving him a piece of advice about his studies.
Examination Hall,
A.B.C
August 26, 2011.

My dear brother,

I have just received your progress report from your college. I am shocked to see that you have miserably failed in English and Maths. Your attendance is below 70%.  It seems that you are neglecting your studies. You have definitely fallen in a bad company.

If this state of affairs continues, you will fail in your final examination. So you should mend your ways before it is too late. It is high time that you should avoid bad company and pay attention towards your studies. Always remember that hard work is the key to success.

I hope you will act upon my advice and start working from today.
With best wishes.

Yours affectionately
X. Y. Z

13.  Letter to Your younger brother suggesting to him some methods for improving English.
Examination Hall,
City A.B.C.
        August 01, 2015
My dear brother,

I am happy and I hope you will be enjoying your college life. I received your letter yesterday. It shows your poor performance in English. Your professor has indicated that you are weak in grammar and spelling. As you know, English is an international language. You should pay special attention to it. It is a foreign language with quite different structure, grammar, idioms and vocabulary

Anyhow, I suggest to you some methods of improving English. First of all, learn the rules of grammar and composition thoroughly. Secondly, you should consult your professor of English regularly and seek his guidance. I hope you will follow my suggestion.

With best wishes.

Yours affectionately,
X.Y.Z.

An enemy with a sword in his hand happened to come there. He asked the Holy prophet ( ﷺ ), “Who can save you from me?” The Holy prophet ( ﷺ ) replied, “My ALLAH!” The enemy began to tremble with fear and the sword fell down from his hand. Raising the sword on him, the Holy Prophet ( ﷺ ) repeated his words. The enemy said, “Only you can save me”. The Prophet of ALLAH ( ﷺ ) said, “ALLAH who saved me from you has the power to save you from me.” 2.ڈاکٹر اقبال ہمارے قومی شاعر ہیں۔ ...
